The 30 latches are the screw-in internal kind. The 4our Kiddies kit is 56 pieces: 6 cabinet locks, 6 anti-tip furniture anchors, 32 outlet plug covers and 12 clear corner protectors, and it is honest that the anchors ship with screws and need drilling while everything else is pre-applied 3M tape. Inaya's 40-piece set is 8 hidden cabinet locks, 6 adjustable latches, 16 outlet covers and 10 corner bumpers, every piece adhesive. So a kit covers outlets (with plug inserts, the weakest cover type, per plug inserts vs sliding outlet covers), cabinets (with latches or magnetic locks) and, depending on the box, doors or corners.

What is in no kit

A baby gate. A window guard. A stove knob cover or oven lock. A toilet lock. Between them, those cover window falls (5,600 ER visits in 2024), the staircase, burns and the bathroom, and no kit touches any of them. A furniture anchor used to belong on this list and now has one exception: the 4our Kiddies kit includes six, and that is the single reason it leads this page, because tip-over is the hazard with the CPSC death count behind it (217 counted from 2013 to mid-2023). Who a kit is for

Grandparents preparing for visits, a second home, a rental you are in for a year, or a first pass before the baby moves. It gets thirty outlets and a dozen cabinets done in an afternoon. Then the specific purchases start: the magnetic locks in a kit are fine, but a kit's plug inserts should give way to sliding plates where plugs come and go, and no kit's corner guards are dense enough for a stone hearth.
